There are also pink dolphins in Hong Kong Harbor, and off the coasts of S.E. Asia. The Amazon pink dolphins are completely freshwater animals, never venturing into the sea. When the floods come, they can swim right into the flooded forest, nimbly navigating between the drowned tree trunks. Sometimes, when the waters recede, they become stranded. The pink dolphins in Hong Kong Harbor are a small group of about 250 animals that form a sub-species of the chinese white dolphin. Like the Amazon dolphins, the Hong Kong dolphins are endangered by human activities, especially pollution.[/span]
