After two successful events held at Ateneo and St. Paul's College Q.C., PLDT My Music finally concluded its campus tour last August 26, 2003 here in the University of Santo Tomas and brought in three of the hottest and sensational artists in the music scene today, Nyoy Volante with Manos, the soul-siren Nina, and the man behind Let Me Be The One Jimmy Bondoc with special guests DJ Mike of the Acapellas and solo performer Dave Soriano. Amidst the busy school day, Thomasians never ignored and wasted the chance of hearing the symphony of the acoustic trend and seeing live the indulging entertainment of the 3 guests which made the huge Medicine Auditorium to be jam-packed and filled with overwhelming spirits.
Before the show began, hosts of the Wave 89.1 station gave away premiere night's tickets for the movie Legally Blonde 2 and other exciting rizes for those who participated the preshow activities.
The most awaited event unfolded with Dave Soriano and DJ Mike of the Acapellas. The audience were surprised with the promising performances of the two especially the unique sound effects of DJ Mike on his own rhythm. After the fantastic opening, Nyoy Volante with Manos took the stage with Edwin McCain's "I'll Be". The audiences were captured enticingly evermore with Nyoy's version of South Border's 'Kahit Kailan" and his personal hit 'You're My You". As the audiences were in euphoria and the auditorium was rocking, Jimmy Bondoc entered the scene with his version of David Benningfield's "If You're Not the One". This song showcased Jimmy's depth in his singingarsenal. The crowd even gets pumpedup when he played his hit song"Let Me Be the One" plushis captivating performances as an entertainer. Screaming, shouting and a lot more were all over the place. Last but not the least to perform was Nina with her revived version of "Loving You" as her opening chant. The 2003 AliwBest New Female Artist likewise did her own versions of 'Overjoyed", "Through the Rain", and "Foolish Heart" plus of course her hit"Jealous". With her voice and poise, she has proven her worth to be a"soul-siren" artist.
After showing their caliber, came in a surprised moment where the rest of the group exposed their individual talents through sound fabrication, comedy, and hilarious styles in singing. Dj Mike amazed the crowd with his exceptional beat box, whereas Jimmy, Nyoy, and Nina all had their share of "Jungle Sounds". The event ended with simultaneous performances exhibiting their own versions of hit song "Happy".
Indeed, the concert wasn't just meant to make Thomasians "Happy" but at the same time to extend assistanec to the beneficiaries of Medicine's Scintilla Juris Organization. The concert proceeds all went to the mission services of the organization as explained by the group that it was a "cost for a cause".
