THAT'S my fearless forecast for the annual music fest that happens Wednesday night at the NBC Tent.

Nope, I didn't ask any of the jurors-'coz part of the tally includes text and faxed votes. So unless some artist's camp has a whole text, fax and e-mail brigade, then I guess "Da Pogi" (who's also hosting the event) and new artist Nina will walk away with the top plum.

Nina is this year's hottest act. Lately, she has been all over-from shows to guestings and hit charts. Let's not forget that she faces tough competition from Regine Velasquez, who's always a strong contender in these parts.

Ogie has a strong and loyal mass presence; his fans can finish off all their cell phone loads just to make sure their idol wins. The favorite new artist award will likewise go to Nina. For favorite group, it's a toss-up between Rivermaya and Slapshock. Favorite song will still be Nina, for "Jealous"-which will surely make many people jealous of this R&B diva.

Best director will be Lyle Sacris for "Wag Na Init Ulo Baby." Slapshock's "Numb" or Imago's "Idlip" might walk away with best video. But let's not discount that Ayen Laurel's "Bawat Gabi" used everything state-of-the-art to make sure her video comes up, up to par.

Then again, these two categories will be jury-based, so no amount of pre-paid cards can catapult anyone to win.
