BELIEVE it or not, but singer Nina performed before an SRO audience at the Music Museum last Saturday in her first major concert.

My source, who watched Nina for the first time, was impressed by the voice behind the original hits "Jealous" and "Heaven." That a singer who has been going solo in less than a year could fill up a major concert venue like Music Museum is impressive. The success of Nina's debut album contributed largely to her growing fan base. Concert tickets reportedly were sold out a week before the show.

Nina sauntered onstage in an all-white outfit and sang her hit single, "Heaven," with DJ Sammy. Then she segued into the Bee Gees' "Emotions," recently revived by Destiny's Child. She also belted out a Mariah Carey medley -"Hero," "Never Too Far," "Through the Rain"-which the audience rewarded with resounding applause.

She changed into a burgundy Sari-Sari gown and was joined onstage by the all-male pop group Akafellas in "One Sweet Day," followed by an OPM medley. Nina later did a male diva segment with Stevie Wonder's "Overjoyed" and "Lately," Bryan McKnight's "One Last Cry" and Luther Vandross' "I'd Rather."

Another guest was Aiza Seguerra, who sang Cathy Trocolli's "If I'm Not in Love With You," and then joined Nina in two duets-"Power of Two" and Aiza's own hit, "Pagdating ng Panahon."

Nina and Young balladeer Jimmy Bondoc, her rumored boyfriend, did a medley of their hits, his "Let Me Be the One" and her "Jealous."

A surprise guest was Nyoy Volante, another rising acoustic singer.

With Retrospect, Nina sang "After the Love Has Gone" and "Whenever I Call You Friend," before she alone sang "Loving You," "Only Hope" and "Foolish Heart," which was also in her debut album.

Nina also danced as she sang "All I Have," "Dilemma" and "Joy Rise." For the finale, she did Chaka Khan's "Through the Fire."

The show lasted nearly three hours, with Nina, now a certified concert artist, going through five costume changes.
