Nina - Uncovered Bar Tour

<img border="0" src="http://www.ninasoulsiren.com/images/uncovered_with_nyoy.jpg" align="left" width="155" height="154" style="padding: 0 10px 0 0;">This fan had the opportunity to witness the opening of the Nina - Uncovered Bar Tour at the Hard Rock Cafe last night (August 9, 2005) and to my absolute enjoyment, it was a different Nina who I saw.  She's sexier, more confident, and surprised me with a new set of songs that I've never heard from her before.

Nina started out just past 9:30 at a full crowd at the Hard Rock Cafe.  The Elements played for her, together with a sax player named John Ray (who will soon be playing for a very popular acoustic balladeer) and the backup singers who sang during the "Nina Just Wanna Have Fun" concert.  I don't remember their name though (my apologies).

Opening with the bouncy "It's Like That", she was the perfect Siren - wearing a pink outfit that accentuated her charm and appeal.  She followed this with her standard "I Don't Wanna Wait" and then she moved on to sing songs you have never heard her sing before - songs that will touch those 80's and 90's fanatics.
<br /><br />
The pacing of the concert was good - mixing dance tunes with the right number of slow songs that will keep you fixated on the Soul Siren and her soothing voice.  John Ray showed off his mastery of the sax when Nina sang "Get Right", while the backup singers highlighted the a capella version of "Amazing Grace".  The "Nina Live!" favorites "Through the Fire" and "Love Moves in Mysterious Ways" of course were well applauded.

The "Nina Uncovered Bar Tour" continues this August: 16 at Dencio's CCP, 17 at Dencio's Capitol Hills, 24 at Virgin Cafe, 26 at the Heritage Hotel, 27 at 19 East in Sucat, 30 at the soon-to-open Bagaberde in Roxas Boulevard, 31 at the Metro Bar; and in September: 1 at Atchie's Bar in Ortigas Center and 7 at Suburbia Malate.  Tickets will be available at the venues.  "Nina Live!" CDs will be available and Nina will have autograph signing sessions after the concerts.
