ASAP and Absent

Dear Nina, our Soul Siren,

I am worried and despondent and catatonic and sentimental. All because I haven’t watch you for any single spot in ASAP for about four weeks straight. That is one month. I am worried and sad, much like your other thousands of fans whose only time to see you is to watch ASAP. It is already a luxury experienced for me seeing you there.

I just overcompensate by visiting your website, your twitter account and facebook group just so I can see updates and connect with you. But nothing ever beats the exhilaration you brought me by belting out those stratospheric notes on ASAP. I'm a Kapamilya just so you know.

Whatever is the reason and why, I don’t have any single clue why you are "absent" there. But I have theories of my own and I'm compiling a list:

1.   ASAP is not a priority of yours.

2.   You have other gigs much more important than ASAP.

3.   You can't come to ASAP because of a gig the night before or your time and schedule won’t permit you to come. Or maybe you are sick.

4.   There was no call from ASAP for you to be there. (I actually don't know the process for you to be there because I know there's a contract or that kind of sort.)

5.   There was a temporary suspension because you guest-starred in a show by you-know-who. (Other fans already hinted this one and I know your current network, that monolith has corporate biases. But hey, you are Nina to us.)

6.   ASAP is preparing something spectacular for your big comeback. (Yeah, after four weeks right.)

7.   ASAP is having a budget cut. (Like this is possible.)

8.   You are just preparing very much for your album launch this June.

9.   Or it is your personal decision and you just need a breather.

But this is just me being paranoid. I just like you very much in ASAP Sessionistas and in any other spot. Need I say more? Hey, I like your article in the Star about your Pattaya experience. My favorite singer is also a writer in the making, just wow.

And please, when you do comeback to ASAP, can you try to sing this one, just for fun and not out of its deconstructed meaning:

sobrang dami na talaga nakakamiss kay nina. siyempre isa na ako diyan. sana this sunday nasa asap pa siya. tama si miggy. dun ko nalang siya nakikita kaya sana this sunday andun siya at madaming numbers. but if she's preparing for a big album then ok lang. basta importante maganda at chart topping ulit ang bagong album.

just hold on my dear NSSIANS & Niners. For sure Nina is cooking up something great. The last time this happened she released the Nina Live album which was really phenomenal. Who knows this could be a repeat?

Instead of showing our impatience let's just bask on the moment of hibernation para naman paglabasa niya sabik na sabik na talaga mga tagahanga niya. I believe it's also a marketing strategy. I hate overexposure din.

lapit na bumalik si Nina sa ASAP. Kaunting patience na lang from us. Hopefully this June she's back.

also, Nina is coming out with an 'exclusive interview' I believe. Let's patiently wait na lang for announcements when this will air.
