The Voice Behind The Gold Current mood: ecstatic
Category: Music
[span style=\'color:red\']I love Jed Madela...[/span]
Just came home from Jed's [span style=\'color:orange\']The Voice Behind The Gold [/span]concert and it was really, REALLY,
REALLY great.
His first song was The Phantom of the Opera and dun pa lang, you can really tell how buo his voice is, and how great he is at projecting... I remember telling SamSam na I don't think he needs a microphone kasi nga ang powerful ng voice niya...
Don't think, however, that his voice can only be matched with broadway songs or classic ballads, for he has proven tonight that he is versatile. (Hmm... I think he proved na nga pala na versatile siya when he won in the World Championships of the Performing Arts, right? Hehe...) He performed upbeat songs to put the crowd in the mood for some fun and to get them hyped... He sang Rhythm Of The Night by Debarge and Footloose by Kenny Loggins. We were able to see Jed do some moves on the stage... Naks! He kept saying pa na "
Thanks to Bodyworks for making me look like I'm dancing!" haha! Eh sumasayaw naman talaga siya! Nothing too flashy, but hey, he wasn't bad. It's fun to watch him on stage.
The rest of the show somewhat depicted the timeline of his career... From the days when he was still part of his group, his first competition in Kazakhstan, his first album
I'll Be Around (Let Me Love You...), the World Championships (Be My Lady, Home), the second album
Songs Rediscovered (The Past, Love Always Finds A Way, The Search Is Over), and a few other songs, which were nonetheless really amazing.
In between "sets", Jed also did some duets with his guests, Ruben Laurente, Gladys Guevarra and Geneva Cruz. I'd have to say that I really enjoyed his stint with Gladys since she always has this great way of grabbing the audience's attention, and not just by her punchlines and impresonations, but because behind that comedic (and might I add, flawless) facade is a really, really great voice. Ang astig talaga ng rendition nila ng Separate Lives. Even my mom and my ninong were amazed.
He also sang an arrangement of pinoy pop-rock ballads... He sang The Day You Said Goodnight and Stay.
Another favorite part of mine was his medley of songs from the Songs Rediscovered Album... Hay.... I will never get enough of Love Always Finds A Way and The Search Is Over...
The last song three songs were really, really good too... He did his own version of
Carrie Underwood's Angels Brought Me Here and you can't help but imagine What if he did join American Idol? (yeah, yeah, he's not American...) The supposedly last song was Reach, originally done by Gloria Estefan, and the impact of the lyrics of the song just going hand in hand with his voice was really breathtaking. Pang standing ovation talaga. (At ang unang tumayo? Si Mark Bautista!!) Of course, there was an encore and he performed I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing.
Hmm... I would actually write more... if only I weren't so overwhelmed with what happened tonight... Naman.. di na nga coherent yung thoughts ko... type na lang nang type... Basta sobra akong happy na I got to see him perform live...
Yun nga lang, we left early, though. (Hirap talaga pag di mo dala yung kotse...) So I didn't get to have my CDs signed... Ha! May excuse ako to watch him for the second time.. hehe... Sana mag-Aruba ulit siya -- with Gail ulit this time? -- para naman makagimmick on a Friday night.
Aaah... will be posting the pictures and videos as soon as maupload namin sa office... Monday pa yon... Ang tagal!!!
Waaah..... so in love with Jed talaga!!!
Haha.. Pati pala kay Mark Bautista... [span style=\'color:blue\']
